Yum Yum

Ellie Skipped happily down the long lane which lead to her grandma’s house, her blonde curls bouncing with each eager hop. She ran her hands along the bushes, and stopped off every so often to carefully choose some nice flowers to put in her Grandma’s favourite vase. As she drew close to the lovely white cottage, she was now able to make out the blue door, framed by creeping vines growing taller every day

Ellie could see her grandma in the kitchen, standing over the oven waiting patiently for her timer to go off. A gentle knock rapped the door and Ellie hid the flowers quickly behind her back. As her grandma opened up the door matching smiles spread right across their faces, Ellie sprung out the flowers into her Grandmas hand. Happiness, love and adoration shot right through the grandma, as she carefully looked at every flower her little granddaughter had handpicked specially for her. She grabbed Ellie in a tight hug and hushed her into the kitchen.

It was warm, and there was the most delicious smell ever, oozing from the oven. Ellie was shaking with excitement. It was tradition that every Sunday her Grandma would bake something and Ellie would get to come down and help finish it off and then gobble it all up!

As the Oven door opened a delicious apple and cinnamon pie floated out and Ellie’s eyes were wide with excitement! It looked marvellous!  All she had to do was sprinkle some sugar over the top and then she could finally taste it, her mouth was watering soooo much.

O, how Ellie loves going to Grandma’s.

These are pictures of a banoffee I made on New Year’s day 2012, nothing fancy but it was my first attempt.  I’d love to be able to bake lovely nice things for my friends and family, especially in the future if I am lucky enough to have Children and grandchildren.

Therefore, throughout 2012 I am aiming to bake and cook more, just as a wee hobby….and so I can eat lots of yummy food.

Yum yum J
